About

ex curiositate, scientia

This blog is dedicated to both the things I do not understand well and to the things I do understand some. Perhaps, after me — writing — and you — reading — we can both understand something more about what we think we understand, or not.

I went for a minimalist yet aesthetic style, not uninspired by blogging giants like Gwern (although I do not have time or patience to build such an exquisite website), but craving even more simplicity for ease of maintenance and for sparing the cluttered slopped web.

Expect a wide range of topics: from AI to neuroscience to philosophy — but the website might evolve into unexpected ways. There are two types of posts: those that I consider mostly permanent and those that are meant to be continuously updated (similar to Cosma Shalizi’s wonderful “terrible looking” blog notebooks). These are properly indicated at the end, and the dynamic pages possess a short changelog. Do cite them or provide their permalink if you use them for other work, and don’t forget the date if you are citing one of the dynamic pages.

I almost do not use LLMs for my writing, but I do use it to research, spell, logic and fact check. Sparingly for aiding my thinking.

If you spot any error or if you would like to suggest something, feel free to DM me on X. I am fairly open.
